Summary of requirements
Artists should familiarise themselves with the requirements listed below prior to submitting an expression of interest.
This page summarises all criteria, including requirements detailed in the information for artists, as well as from the application form and the terms and conditions of being involved in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland Open Studios 2012 program.
To be eligible for participation in our program, artists must:
- be a current financial member of ACI
- be willing to remain a member for the 2012–2013 financial year
- either:
- have their own private studio, or
- regularly share a studio with another artist who also meets these requirements
- have current public liability insurance to the value of $10M (or higher), or be willing to obtain such insurance (either through an insurance agency or by negotiating for group cover through ACI)
- be willing to engage with the general public and demonstrate their arts practices in a professional manner
- have a high standard and adequate body of work on display
- display their work in a professional manner
- agree to display only their own artwork
- be willing to have their studio open to the public for the four weekends of the program *
- be willing to sell raffle tickets to raise funds for the program
- be willing to actively promote ACI and the open studios program.
Artist's studios must:
- be located within the area shown on this map
- be accessible by regular traffic (i.e. not 4WD only)
- undergo a workplace health & safety audit
- have a professional set up and appearance.
When submitting an expression of interest, each artist must provide supporting material, including:
- a minimum of 5 professional-quality photographs of themselves at work and completed artworks, at a size of 4 megapixels or larger
- a minimum of 3 additional photographs depicting their studio, gallery or display area, and the surrounding areas
- proof of current (or pending) public liability insurance, or agree to pay for group coverage though Arts Connect Inc.
If selected to participate in the program, each artist must agree to:
- pay all fees online by the due date of 21 March 2012
- meet all other deadlines imposed by ACI
- fulfil their workplace health & safety obligations throughout the program
- participate in a pre-event exhibition organised by ACI
- sign and return a copyright license agreement
- sign and return a participating artist agreement
- provide approvals for brochure and web page content by the set deadline(s)
- collect statistics on visitors and provide feedback to ACI after completion of the program
- return all street signs to ACI after completion of the program.
