Artists on the Green
‘the art market with a difference’
Artists on the Green was born from our vision to ‘bring artists back to Montville’.
It provides a unique opportunity for local artists to engage with the public, promote their work and showcase their skills.
Come along and see a unique assortment of work, including:
- pottery
- paintings
- textile arts
- timber work
- calligraphy
- sculpture
- jewellery
- scrimshaw.
Musicians entertain throughout the day, and each month visitors enjoy a special treat – either an exhibition or installation in the adjoining St Mary's Hall, or an activity or presentation on the green itself.
Guidelines for artists
Artists on the Green is not 'just another market with low-priced ware’, therefore each participating artist must:
- produce high-quality, original artwork
- only display artwork produced by themselves
- display their work in a professional and attractive manner.
Preference is always given to artists who can demonstrate their skills during the day.
Where & when to find us
Artists on the Green is held on the third Sunday of each month, on the Montville Village Green, from 9 am till 3 pm.
The village green can be found at the corner of Main Street and Memorial Close – near the northern end of the Montville Heritage Precinct. The green is positioned between the Village Hall, St Mary's Church and Razorback Road (which runs alongside the Montville State School).
